Youth 4 Change (Y4C)

What Is Y4C?

Y4C Youth for Climate Change, (a subsidiary of Worldview, USA) is an international youth program that actively supports climate change projects. Y4C focuses on raising awareness and educating young people about what they can do to help fight climate change. In doing so, the program has succeeded in two climate change projects: Students for Solar (distributing solar lights to households and schools in Myanmar), and Mangrove Restoration: (planting Mangrove Trees on the coast of the Bay of Bengal/Myanmar). We also offer children and teens a variety of ways to develop their climate knowledge. Y4C will unite young people through education and service, building and inspiring hope for our future leaders to fight climate change.

Y4C PROJECT 1 :

Climate & Culture

Y4C’s founders traveled to Sri Lanka visiting Paradise Farm where they emerged themselves into the work of small scale farming of organic tea. Meeting the farmers, picking tea leaves and hiking mountains the two were deeply inspired by the simplicity of biodiversity and its transformative impact.

Y4C PROJECT 2 :

Mangrove Restoration

Planting Mangrove Trees along the coastal areas of Myanmar.  In partnerships with schools, organizations and friends Y4C planted 2000 trees!

Y4C PROJECT 3 :

Students for Solar

Y4C succeeded in its goal to provide 1000 solar lamps to rural and indigenous areas in Myanmar. These lamps present tremendous opportunities for leaning beyond the daylight hours.

Let’s Get Educated About Our Climate

MANGOSA THURA:

Mangosa Thura tells the story of young boy who learns of his ancient Sentorli lineage – a guardian chosen by nature meant to defend Earth through his special connection to the Mangrove trees. This story is shared in hopes of connecting with the younger demographic concerned about our earth and unable to take initiative. Our sale and distribution of this graphic novel will not only engage about this issue creatively but help support WIF in planting one billion mangrove trees in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas.
